2018–19 Mission Trips

Christ in the Desert Retreat

This trip will take place from Sunday, March 10 through Saturday, March 16, 2019. It will consist of a five day retreat at a monastery in the New Mexico desert. While this is a group trip, the aim of this retreat is to disconnect from the busyness of student life at Duke and to encounter God with an emphasis on quiet time and reflection. Students are able to join the monks at regular prayer times and also have time for individual prayer and reflection.

Costa Rica Mission Trip

Usually a ten day round-trip, it consists of participating in a build project at a partner Christian organization in Costa Rica with ties to Durham and Duke University. Enrolling in a house course is required to participate in this trip (please email Bruce directly with questions about enrollment) and it focuses on group engagement and cultural participation of the local Costa Rican culture.
